I just bought a light for my URB-E

Postby Talon » Thu Jan 18, 2018 10:35 am

I bought a Cygolite 600 Pro. It has 600 lumens of light. More than bright enough. It is made in the USA and is top rated for $38.00 on Ebay. It is very tiny and fits my Pro-GT perfectly and is rechargeable via USB port :D

What about this light I am thinking about? It is from Urb-E website cheaper and has 1600 Lumens and cheaper.

I have one of those. It is bigger, and made in China. It has a focused beam. I prefer a wider beam. That light also has to run off the URB-E battery with a pain in the ass cord to trip over and look ugly. It does not matter which one is cheaper, It does matter which one is better. I prefer a made in America product :D

Ya, I have one of those too.
If you lived next door, I'd just throw it over the fence for you.
The USB connection is a waste of time and they rarely stay aimed the right direction, always bouncing around.
Get a cheap 2000 lumen focus lense light from amazon that has a decent handlebar mount, maybe even one that you can snap off for quick use off of the bike for inspecting things.

Plus keep in mind that Urban626 charges the customer $20.00 extra just for shipping

I just bought this 2nd light. This Cybolite is 800 lumens from the same seller. I have both a pedal bike + the Pro-GT monster. The 800 lumen Cybolite has a much better handle bar mount that will not move once tightened :D Many Chinese companies exaggerate the "lumens" that their lights actually put out as I have read many times. Just because a Chinese company claims 1,500+ Lumens does NOT mean that it is a fact here in the USA  This seller has the very best prices if you want a real American made high quality light :D https://www.ebay.com/itm/332390435835

I can attest to the exaggeration of lumen specs as I ordered 2 different 2000 lumen lights from China and both were different and only slightly brighter than the one URB-E sells.

The USB wire running down to the battery gets in the way and the rubber band mount that mine has doesn't hold it in place.
I can't recommend it.
Talon's light is pretty cool... You'd want something work a sturdy mount.
